Vera Zdravkova


A Magna Cum Laude graduate of Boise State International Business Programs Vera Zdravkova completed internships with the Idaho Department of Commerce, the U.S. Department of State, and local companies pursuing foreign expansion. She has worked internationally in Mexico, Rwanda, and Taiwan. Upon graduation, Vera began working as a Program Development Advisor for Boise State's International Trade Certificate Program. She was recently offered a position at the U.S. Department of State is continuing as a Foreign Service Officer specializing in economic affairs. Vera is fluent in Spanish, German and Bulgarian, and is currently studying Mandarin.

Bill Whitacre been the Chief Executive Officer of the J. R. Simplot Company since February 2009.  Mr. Whitacre has been the President of STM, Inc., since September 2009 and a Manager at Britz-Simplot Grower Solutions, LLC since June 2008.  Mr. Whitacre served as the President of Simplot AgriBusiness Group at J. R. Simplot Company since 2002.

Dr. Joseph W. William J. Whitacre, CEO of J.R. Simplot


Mr. William J. Whitacre, "Bill" has been the Chief Executive Officer of the J. R. Simplot Company since February 2009.  Mr. Whitacre has been the President of STM, Inc., since September 2009 and a Manager at Britz-Simplot Grower Solutions, LLC since June 2008.  Mr. Whitacre served as the President of Simplot AgriBusiness Group at J. R. Simplot Company since 2002.  He has spearheaded strategies centered on development of new products, new services, and expansion into new geographies.  He joined Simplot in March 2000 as President of its turf and horticulture business.  Mr. Whitacre has more than 30 years experience in the agriculture industry. Prior to joining Simplot, he served as the President and Chief Executive Officer of Research Seeds, Inc. a Land O'Lakes subsidiary.  He served as a Director of SemiLEDs Corporation since August 2009 and J. R. Simplot Company since February 2009.  He has been a Director of St. Luke's Health System Ltd. since July 1, 2012. He also serves as a Director of Agribusiness Capital Corp., Cal Ida Chemical Co., Censa of California, Inc., Morpheus, Inc., SDM, Inc., and SMP, Inc.  He serves as a Director of The Fertilizer Institute, International Plant Nutrition Institute, Nutrients for Life Foundation and Farm Foundation.  Mr. Whitacre served as the President of the American Seed Trade Association, Western Seed Association and North American Seed Institute.

Joe DeGano

 

Joe DeGano works with Rekluse, the 2012 SBA (Small Business Association) National Exporter of the Year, as the Sales & Marketing Manager.  Following his career of racing professional motocross, he entered the business world in the motorcycle industry doing public relations, marketing, sales, and international business. He founded MX COACH in 2001 to coach and train aspiring motocross racers. On the personal development side, Joe has served as a leader for Landmark Education, various men’s groups and has facilitated parenting classes.

He is known as the Unreasonable Man but Joe states, “That is a positive adjective some of the time”.

Mark Durcan is Chief Executive Officer at Micron Technology. Prior to being appointed Micron’s CEO in February 2012, he held a variety of increasingly responsible positions including process integration engineer, process integration manager, process development manager, vice president of research and development, chief technical officer and president.

Brad Little, Lt. Governor, Idaho

Brad Little was appointed Idaho's 37th Lieutenant Governor on January 6, 2009.  A native of Emmett in Gem County, Little is a third-generation Idahoan.  He has dedicated his life and career to continuing both his family’s ranching interests and its history of service to the people of Idaho. A graduate of the University of Idaho, Little has strived to be a good steward of the land as well as a responsible citizen.  He has succeeded in both areas by encouraging sustainable agriculture and by getting involved in public policy from a young age.

Little was appointed to fill a Senate vacancy in May 2001, and was subsequently elected and reelected senator from District 11 four times.

In the Idaho Senate, Little rose quickly into leadership, being elected by his peers as Majority Caucus Chairman in 2003.  He held this position until Governor C.L. "Butch" Otter appointed him to fill the vacancy left by then Lt. Governor Jim Risch’s election to the U.S. Senate in January of 2009.  He was elected Lt. Governor on November 2, 2010.

Little’s personal philosophy has been consistent throughout his career - to ensure the lightest possible hand of government in the lives of citizens and businesses.

Mark Ballum

 

Mark J. Ballam serves as the managing director for the Center for International Business Education and Research at San Diego State University (SDSU CIBER).  He came to SDSU in 2005 after eight years as associate director of the CIBER at Georgia Institute of Technology.  Before Georgia Tech, he had a 12-year career in the banking industry and served as Vice President with SunTrust Banks .
In addition to his work with SDSU, Mark serves on the Board of Directors of the World Trade Center San Diego, the San Diego and Imperial District Export Council, and the Small Business Development and International Trade Center. In 2011, Mark received the “Essence of World Trade Award,” the World Trade Center’s highest award. In 2012, Mark was elected to serve a second term on the Steering Committee of the National District Export Council.  He currently serves as president of the Consortium for Undergraduate International Business Education (CUIBE).

Ramona Perez

 

Dr. Ramona L. Pérez is the Director of International Business, Director of the Center for Latin American Studies, and Associate Professor of Anthropology at San Diego State University. She brings extensive experience in corporate banking to her work in academia, having served as a senior vice president for Shearson Lehman Hutton prior to becoming an applied anthropologist. Her research today fuses the business and social science world by applying social science theories and methodologies to address real-world socio-economic issues. 
She recently served as the President of the Society for Latin American Anthropology, as an Executive Appointee to the Labor Commission of the American Anthropological Association, and currently chairs the Institutional Review Board for SDSU.
